Introducing TLG: Helping Schools Run Seamlessly
A message from Tom Welch, Founder and CEO of TLG

After more than 20 years of working alongside some incredible people, building businesses and supporting schools across the UK, I’m really proud to introduce our next chapter: TLG.
And at the heart of it all is a mission that means a great deal to me personally: we help schools run seamlessly.
Before starting this business, I was a teacher, and that experience has stayed with me throughout my career. I’ve seen first-hand the dedication that goes into running a school and how much of that hard work happens behind the scenes.
I’ve always believed that the people working in education deserve the very best support, so they can spend more of their time doing what matters most.
Over the years, we’ve brought together some brilliant teams who share that belief. Now, under TLG, we’re bringing their expertise even closer together, building on everything we’ve achieved and creating exciting opportunities for what comes next.
Bringing our people and expertise together
Schools and trusts face some incredibly complex challenges. From managing tighter budgets and growing responsibilities to keeping pace with technology, there’s a lot to balance, often with limited time and resources.
That’s where I believe TLG makes a real difference.
By bringing together our expertise across technology, data, finance, and compliance, we look at the bigger picture and help schools make better use of the systems, resources and support they rely on every day.
We now have over 500 talented people across TLG, and I couldn’t be prouder of the knowledge, experience and commitment they bring to their work.
I’m excited about what we can achieve together, building on the relationships we’ve established and finding new ways to make a positive difference for schools and trusts.
We start with people
One of our core values at TLG is We start with people, and for me, that really sums up what we’re about.
Every school and trust is different, with its own challenges, ambitions and ways of working. Taking the time to listen, understand what matters and build genuine relationships has always been central to how we work.
Sometimes making a difference means introducing better technology or improving the way systems work together. Other times, it’s about offering practical advice, sharing knowledge or simply being there when someone needs a helping hand.
I’ve always believed that the best partnerships are built on trust, honesty and making a positive impact. It’s an approach that’s shaped our business over the years, and one I’m determined we carry forward as TLG evolves.
Looking ahead together
For me, helping schools run seamlessly comes down to making a genuine difference to people’s working lives.
It’s a teacher starting their lesson without worrying about technology, a business manager having the information they need to make confident decisions, or a trust leader having more time to focus on their people and priorities.
These things matter. And as education continues to evolve, I believe we have a fantastic opportunity to help schools build the confidence, resilience and foundations they need for the future.
Launching TLG is an exciting milestone, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us get here. From the brilliant colleagues across our businesses to the schools, trusts and partners who have put their faith in us over the years, we’ve achieved a great deal together.
I’m proud of what we’ve built, but even more excited about what’s ahead. We have an amazing team, a shared sense of purpose and a real opportunity to make a lasting difference in education.
