FAQs

What is Device as a Service for schools?

DaaS combines device provision with ongoing IT management and support. The service includes delivery, setup, installation, maintenance, fixes and patches, alongside hardware protection and proactive monitoring. Recommendations are based on your teaching and learning objectives and existing infrastructure, so the device mix and support reflect your school or trust’s needs.

How is DaaS priced and how long is the contract?

The service is priced per device, with the cost based on your school or trust’s requirements. Schools and MATs usually choose a three-year contract. The total cost of devices, peripherals, accessories, delivery, installation and support is spread evenly over the term, providing a predictable annual outlay without a large upfront hardware purchase.

Which devices can we use?

Recommendations can include laptops, Chromebooks and iPads, or a combination. For example, staff may use laptops while pupils use Chromebooks or iPads for learning. We review your objectives, challenges and current infrastructure before recommending the most suitable devices and any infrastructure investment needed to support them.

What happens if a device is damaged or stops working?

Unlimited, enhanced hardware warranty and full accidental damage cover are included as standard. Critical devices are replaced within eight working hours of a support request, at no additional cost. Ongoing maintenance, fixes and patches are also included, with remote and on-site support when needed.

Can we change device numbers and when are devices refreshed?

You can increase or reduce the number of devices your school needs without penalties. This gives you flexibility as requirements change. Hardware is refreshed every three years, helping keep your device estate current. Device provision, management and support remain part of the service throughout the contract term.
