Joined-up support for day-to-day IT and long-term improvement

Managed IT Services bring the right expertise together around your school or trust.

  • IT advice and strategic guidance

Get practical recommendations from education-focused IT professionals who understand the pressures schools and trusts face. We help connect technology decisions with wider operational, teaching and learning priorities.

  • Access to wider specialist expertise

When a requirement extends beyond day-to-day managed support, we can connect you with wider TLG expertise across cloud, connectivity, cyber security, backup, devices and digital transformation.

  • Planned onsite consultancy

Your onsite consultant focuses on the work that benefits most from being in school, including complex issues, planned improvements, proactive checks and the practical work that keeps your technology environment moving forward.

  • Training and ongoing development

We provide guidance and training to help staff use technology effectively and build confidence, supporting longer-term adoption rather than leaving new systems or processes to bed in on their own.

  • Reviews and health checks

Proactive reviews help identify risks, recurring issues, improvement opportunities and areas that may need further planning, giving leaders a clearer view of what to address next.

  • Remote-first resolution

Where appropriate, our team works to resolve issues remotely first. This helps reduce delays and disruption while making sure problems that genuinely need physical intervention are coordinated with your onsite consultant.

  • Procurement support

Where hardware or technology purchasing forms part of your wider IT requirements, our team can support procurement decisions and help make sure new technology fits your existing environment and priorities.

  • Dedicated service desk

Access education-focused IT support from 07:30-18:00, Monday-Friday. Tickets are reviewed, triaged and worked throughout the week so day-to-day issues do not have to wait for the next onsite visit.

More proactive IT support, for less disruption and greater confidence.

A strong support model should make technology easier to manage, not add another layer of complexity.

Faster support when issues arise

Tickets can be worked throughout the week rather than waiting for the next onsite visit. That means quicker access to help, fewer unresolved issues building up and less disruption to lessons, administration and day-to-day operations.

More valuable onsite time

Remote-first support helps your onsite consultant spend more time on complex, proactive and planned work. Instead of using every visit for routine firefighting, onsite time can focus on improvements that are best delivered face-to-face.

Expertise beyond one person

Your school or trust can draw on TurnITon’s wider specialist team as well as the familiar support of an onsite consultant. This creates a more resilient model and makes it easier to access the right expertise when requirements change.

A clearer path for technology

Managed support is connected to longer-term planning. We work with leaders to understand priorities, identify improvements and develop technology over time, helping IT support wider school or trust goals rather than operating in isolation.

Dedicated support, backed by people who know your school

Managed IT Services use a hybrid support model that combines a dedicated service desk with planned onsite consultancy. When a member of staff raises a ticket, our service desk reviews and triages it during service desk hours. Where it is appropriate and secure to do so, the team attempts to resolve the issue remotely first.

If an issue needs physical intervention, it is coordinated with the onsite consultant. This keeps support moving between visits while protecting onsite time for complex, proactive and planned work. Alongside day-to-day support, our consultants work with school and trust leaders to understand priorities, review the technology environment and plan improvements over time.

The result is a connected support model: responsive when something goes wrong, proactive when there is an opportunity to improve, and grounded in the realities of education.

We can help you manage:

  • Strategic technology planning aligned to school or trust priorities
  • Guidance and training to support effective use of technology
  • Raise and track day-to-day IT support issues through the agreed support route
  • Service desk triage and remote-first resolution where appropriate
  • Escalation and coordination for issues that require onsite intervention
  • Planned onsite consultancy for complex, proactive and higher-value work
  • IT reviews, health checks and practical recommendations

  • You need access to specialist expertise beyond the capacity of one internal or onsite resource.
  • Support feels inconsistent across different schools in your trust.

  • Your school or trust is growing and you need a support model that can scale with you.

Clear to start. Supported from day one.

Onboarding is tailored to your school or trust, your existing support arrangements and your technology environment. We establish the practical support routes, key information and priorities first, then move into an ongoing managed service built around responsive support and continuous improvement.

  • 1. Understand your environment

We start by understanding your current IT estate, support arrangements, priorities and any known issues. This gives both teams a clear view of what matters most and what needs to be in place for support to work effectively.

  • 2. Set up the support model

We agree the service desk route, remote-support requirements, onsite arrangements, key contacts and relevant IT information. Exact onboarding activity and timing will vary depending on your existing environment and support model.

  • 3. Move into ongoing support

Once the service is established, staff can raise issues through the agreed support route. The service desk triages tickets and works remotely where appropriate, coordinating with your onsite consultant when physical intervention is needed.

  • 4. Review, improve and plan ahead

Support continues beyond individual tickets. Your consultant works with leaders to review priorities, identify risks and opportunities, and plan improvements so technology develops alongside the needs of your school or trust.

Support designed around your organisation

Consistent IT support across a growing trust

As trusts grow, inconsistent support models and disconnected ways of working can make technology harder to manage. Managed IT Services provide a more joined-up approach across schools, combining responsive service desk support with planned onsite consultancy and access to wider specialist expertise. This can help trust leaders create greater consistency, reduce issues waiting between visits and give schools a clearer route to support. Our consultants can also work with leadership teams on longer-term technology priorities, helping IT develop in a way that supports growth, resilience and more consistent operations across the trust.

FAQs

What does Managed IT Services include?

Managed IT Services combine a dedicated service desk, remote-first ticket resolution, planned onsite consultant support, practical IT advice, reviews and health checks, strategic technology planning and ongoing guidance. The exact support model is tailored to your school or trust and your existing technology environment.

What does remote-first IT support mean?

Remote-first means our service desk will try to resolve suitable issues remotely before they wait for an onsite visit. This can help keep support moving throughout the week. It does not mean remote only: issues that need physical intervention are coordinated with your onsite consultant.

Will we still have onsite IT support?

Yes. Planned onsite consultancy is an important part of the service. Remote support helps deal with suitable day-to-day issues between visits, while onsite time can be used for complex problems, proactive checks, planned work and improvements that are best delivered in school.

Can Managed IT Services support a multi-academy trust?

Yes. The service is designed for primary schools, secondary schools and multi-academy trusts. For trusts, the model can support a more consistent approach across multiple schools, with a shared service desk, planned onsite support and access to wider specialist expertise.

What happens if an issue cannot be fixed remotely?

Some issues genuinely require someone onsite. When that happens, the service desk can coordinate the issue with your onsite consultant so the right work is picked up in person. Specialist requirements or larger project work may sit outside the managed service scope and be handled through an appropriate additional service.
